What You'll Do...

As a team, we are crafting the future legacy of DevOpsGroup and we are looking for more super talented individuals to add their mark. As the team continues to grow, we are looking to meet Delivery Managers with a good understanding of Agile principals, to discuss how your future could look with us at DevOpsGroup.

Here’s how your first month will look…

  • Our People Team have provided you with everything you need to know during your induction
  • You’ll dive straight into your squad stand-ups
  • You’ll start to learn more about the way we deliver work
  • The software and tech we use is becoming much more clear
  • You are getting to grips with our products and services mix
  • You are starting to understand our ways of working
  • You’ve attended your first DevOpsGroup Conference
  • Steve and James will take you for a co-founder’s lunch
  • You’ll be collaborating with another delivery manager who will be introducing you to your new client
  • You’ll meet the two Sophie’s, five James’, five Chris’ and probably start calling everyone Sophie, James or Chris
  • You are enjoying the benefits of our remote-friendly environment and have everything you need for this
  • Any queries or concerns? These have been addressed and you’re more than ready for your DevOpsGroup future

By month three…

  • Your confidence has grown as you really start to form relationships with our clients at all levels of the business
  • The metrics that the team use are now something you are familiar with and confident applying
  • By now, you are familiar with our sales cycle and understand where your role fits within this cycle
  • You are contributing to the company’s objectives and feel comfortable creating your own
  • You are now familiar with every member of the DevOpsGroup family
  • You are starting to build up mileage travelling between client sites and our offices
  • You are starting to deliver value for our clients on their digital transformation journey
  • Perhaps you are sharing your skills and expertise to help other members of the team to grow
  • You are working closely with other delivery managers to define roadmaps for our clients
  • As you have full access to our DevOpsGroup Academy, by now you’ve completed a training course or two
  • You know all of the technologies we use with our clients and you are comfortable discussing these
  • By now, you are balancing multiple priorities and dealing with ambiguity
  • Perhaps you’ve got a thing or two wrong along the way, but that’s okay, failure IS an option at DevOpsGroup and is something we are always learning from
  • The direction you are heading in is much clearer with thanks to the strategies and plans you have created for yourself and our clients
  • Perhaps you are starting to identify some areas for personal development

The experience you’ll need…

  • You will manage one or more clients, typically to deliver a specific project, transformation or maybe even a cloud migration, via a multi-disciplinary, highly skilled digital team.
  • You’ll be adept at delivering complex digital projects and evolving services, breaking down barriers for your team, both planning at a higher level and getting into the detail to make things happen when needed.
  • Defining project and client needs and feeding these into the programme/portfolio process to enable resource to be appropriately allocated. You will be core to decisions that build high performing teams, where people are excited about the work they are undertaking.
  • Where client’s engagements involve the delivery of managed services, you will contribute to service improvement and product development activities, developing and growing both existing and new clients
  • A technical background is desired, a high-level understanding of the SDLC or Cloud Infrastructure would be ideal and how things ‘fit together’
  • You will need to be a self-starter, comfortable working remotely and traveling to client site, with previous experience working from home being ideal

Key responsibilities…

  • To deliver client projects and managed the service to clients, using the appropriate agile project management methodology, learning & iterating frequently
  • Work with the clients to define and agree the roadmap for any given project, translating this into user stories and an agreed way of working
  • Lead the collaborative, dynamic planning process – prioritising the work that needs to be done against the capacity and capability of the team, acting in the interests of the client
  • Matrix-managing a multidisciplinary team
  • Ensure all products are built to an appropriate level of quality for each stage of our delivery process and that delivery of managed services meet pre-agreed expectations
  • Actively participating in the Delivery Manager community, sharing and re-applying skills and knowledge and bringing in best practice.
