As an organisation, we have been closely following guidance from the government with regards to COVID-19. In light of this guidance, we have today decided to cease all work-related travel and ask all of our team to work from home.
What does this mean?
The wellbeing of our team is paramount and we have therefore decided that all work-related travel should cease. As of the close of business today, we will be closing our Cardiff and London office until further notice and are asking all of our staff to work from home.
Why are we doing this?
First and foremost we have a duty of care to our team and our community. We believe that the best way for us to do this is to reduce travel and support the social distancing strategy.
We are trying to be as proactive as possible and believe that we have an opportunity to support the guidance of healthcare professionals and the expected government announcement that it is shifting the country to the delay phase of its planning for COVID-19.
What provisions are you putting in place for employees?
As a business, we have worked hard to ensure that we have a robust remote working capability. We are now in a position to take advantage of this by moving to a fully remote position, something we trialled with great success back in January.
We do appreciate that working remotely is a significant change for people, especially for a prolonged period. We have several ‘remote working mentors’ within the organisation who will be helping people as they settle into the new routine. We also appreciate that remote working is more than just a technical challenge and our People Team will be working hard over the next few days and weeks with a number of initiatives to help people adapt.
Will you be sharing this information?
Absolutely! We are fortunate that we have experience working in a ‘fully remote’ capacity and we appreciate that a lot of the lessons we have learnt will be helpful for organisations other than just ours. Keep an eye out for some helpful blogs and articles on remote working in the next few days.
I am a DevOpsGroup client – how will this affect me?
In all other manners, we are operating the business as usual! We have customers to support and committed work to be delivered.
In January, we tested our Business Continuity Plan (BCP), having our entire organisation work remotely, successfully supporting all of our customers and delivering against our commitments during this week-long exercise. We are confident that we can operate in a fully remote manner for the medium to long term.
Our teams will continue to work hard to deliver amazing work for you – if you have any questions please speak with your CSM or Division Director.
