About Rael

Since joining in November 2017, Rael has overseen the increased prominence of cloud capabilities in the DevOpsGroup portfolio. Rael hopes to take this to new levels in the coming years.

Having spent his career working exclusively for technology service providers, Rael has also witnessed too much done wrong by the industry. At DevOpsGroup, he’s determined to seize the opportunity to put things right.

Rael has an obsession for simplifying the complex. He was the inspiration (although not the artistic talent) behind DevOpsGroup’s now infamous cloud migration diagram (original sketch here, for posterity).

Outside of work, Rael would happily spend all his waking hours on a bicycle. However, he finds having three young children is quite a distraction from this. On the rare occasions he’s allowed to read fiction, instead of business management theory, he particularly enjoys fantasy and sci-fi. Although still hasn’t watched a full episode of Game of Thrones.

No such thing; there’s far too much great food in the world. But Yotam Ottolenghi is my most influential chef, for both his books and restaurants.

What one book should everyone read?

As the book that defines a genre like no other… Lord of the Rings. Closely followed, of course, by The Phoenix Project.

What is the best thing about working at DevOpsGroup?

Living so close to the future.
